After pitching around a two-out double to left in the first and striking out the side in the second, Bundy gave up that run in the last of the third.

With two outs and no one on, he struck out Mason Williams but Williams reached first on a wild pitch. He then scored on a somewhat bizarre sequence where catcher Gabriel Lino threw a ball back wildly toward…Single-A Delmarva’s Dylan Bundy gave up his first run in his sixth start as a pro tonight, but it was unearned on the road at Charleston.

He then scored on a somewhat bizarre sequence where catcher Gabriel Lino threw a ball back wildly toward Bundy and it went into center field. Center fielder Glynn Davis then threw towards third to try and get Mason out, but the wild throw went into the dugout and Mason scored. Delmarva was charged with three errors in that inning. Without Mason reaching on the wild pitch, Bundy would have had a 1-2-3 last of the third.

Devin Jones came on to pitch in place of Bundy in the last of the fourth after that long third inning and Bundy had somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 pitches tonight.

His line tonight: 3IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 0BB, 8Ks.

His line on the year: 20 IP, 2H, 1R, 0ER, 2BB, 33Ks.

Bundy left trailing 1-0 and could take the loss tonight. South Atlantic League hitters are now 2-for-61 against him this year.

The Shorebirds today placed outfielder John Ruettiger on the disabled list, retroactive to May 5, and catcher Wynston Sawyer was activated off the DL. Ruettiger leads the Shorebirds with a .323 batting average and 31 hits. He’s hit safely in 20 of 24 games this season.

Update: Delmarva has scored to tie the game at 1-1, so Bundy won’t take the loss.
