Ricky Romero took the loss in that game, proving that the Orioles can beat a left-handed starter. Jeremy Accardo was one of the relievers used by the Blue Jays.
Jeremy Guthrie will undergo an MRI tomorrow after leaving today’s game with a strained muscle on the right side of his upper back. Guthrie allowed one hit in five scoreless innings.
Guthrie tweeted that the pain worsened with each pitch in the fifth.
Just what the Orioles don’t need.
Guthrie wrote: “So frustrating as I felt great out there.”
Manager Buck Showalter told reporters in Toronto that Guthrie is dealing with more than a spasm.
“It’s tough to identify right now until you get an MRI and get the hot spot and see what we’re dealing with,” Showalter said during the manager’s interview on MASN.
