Britton last allowed a run in the second inning of his start May 6 versus Tampa Bay when the Rays scored three in that inning. He left that game with one out in the sixth but pitched shutout ball after that second frame.

He then threw nine scoreless allowing just three hits last Thursday against Seattle.

Manager Buck Showalter was asked about Britton by some New York reporters today and repeated a comment the Baltimore reporters have heard a few times this year.

He basically said Britton can be a wide-eyed kid before the game, like when taking a tour of Fenway Park before the game the other night. But it’s all business once seven o’clock hits.

The Orioles are 6-2 when he starts this year and he has put together six quality starts over his eight outings. Britton has allowed one run or less in three of his last four starts and five times on the year.

His ERA over his past four starts is 1.71 and his home ERA is 1.85 in five Camden Yards starts.
