Hardy hit a career-high 30 home runs in his first season with the Orioles – tied for most by a shortstop in the majors – and finished as the runner-up to center fielder Adam Jones in MVO voting. He was named American League Player of the Week for Aug. 8-14 and recorded an RBI in eight straight games from Aug. 2-12, the fourth-longest streak in club history.
