Outfielder Quintin Berry worked out on the back fields today and could play on Sunday. An MRI on his back earlier this week came back clean.

“He’s trying to do everything today,” said manager Buck Showalter.

Infielder Alexi Casilla remains shut down with a sore right hamstring.

First baseman Chris Marrero still can’t play because of a strained oblique.

“He did some throwing yesterday to get a feel for it and still felt some discomfort, so that doesn’t seem to be moving at any rapid pace,” Showalter said. “Most of those things don’t anyway, especially the first time you do it.”

Suk-min Yoon will leave camp on Tuesday to obtain his work visa and may not return until Friday, putting him further behind the other pitchers. The Orioles can option him to Triple-A Norfolk this season, but will need his permission the next two seasons.

Ubaldo Jimenez is still a candidate to make his Grapefruit League debut with the Orioles on Friday.

Reliever Alfredo Aceves threw while he was in Mexico and should easily slot back into a pitching schedule. He returned to camp yesterday after obtaining his work visa.

For now, Showalter wants Ryan Flaherty, Jemile Weeks and Jonathan Schoop to focus on playing second base. They could move around later in the spring.

Showalter said he “doesn’t make any secret about” wanting to provide more rest for catcher Matt Wieters this season. That means giving him complete days off, not using him as the designated hitter.
