O'Neill on injured list with left shoulder impingement, today's lineups

Outfielder Tyler O’Neill is back on the injured list, this time with a left shoulder impingement.

The Orioles recalled outfielder Dylan Carlson to replace O’Neill, who was out previously with inflammation in his neck.

O’Neill is batting .188/.280/.325 with three doubles, a triple and two home runs in 24 games. He hasn’t played since Thursday and was scratched from Friday’s lineup.

This is O'Neill's 16th career trip to the IL.

Carlson is recalled for the third time, the last two for O’Neill. He was on the taxi squad this weekend. He’s 0-for-15 with eight strikeouts.

Ryan Mountcastle is back in the lineup as the designated hitter after fouling a ball off his foot Friday night. He didn’t play yesterday but said that he was available.

Jackson Holliday is leading off. Adley Rutschman is batting cleanup. Emmanuel Rivera is the third baseman.

Zach Eflin is making his fifth start. He’s allowed eight runs in 23 innings. He has a 4.66 ERA and 1.431 WHIP in 13 career games (12 starts) against the Orioles.

Amed Rosario is 7-for-18 with three doubles. Luis Garcia Jr. is 5-for-10 with a double.

The Orioles have lost five games in a row, 11 of 13 and 18 of 24.

Nationals right-hander Michael Soroka has made three starts and posted a 6.43 ERA in 14 innings. He’s struck out 15.

Soroka has never started against the Orioles, allowing one earned run (two total) in three relief innings. He’s never pitched at Camden Yards.

Interim manager Tony Mansolino said a decision hasn't been made on Tuesday night’s starter in Milwaukee. Dean Kremer starts Monday and Tomoyuki Sugano Wednesday.
