The Orioles announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jason Berken from Triple-A Norfolk and placed right-hander Alfredo Simon on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 13, with a right hamstring strain.
Berken was with the Orioles earlier in the season until being optioned to Norfolk on May 20 after pitching to a 7.94 ERA (17.0IP, 15 ER) in 15 appearances. He was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA (16.1IP, 7 ER) in four starts with the Tides.
