Heston Kjerstad is in left field this afternoon and Samuel Basallo is catching and batting cleanup for the Orioles’ afternoon home game against the Tigers.

Taylor Ward is the designated hitter.

Pete Alonso is at first base in back-to-back games. Coby Mayo is starting at third base.

Gunnar Henderson is batting leadoff again, but don’t read too much into it.

Dean Kremer makes his second exhibition start. He breezed through the first inning against the Pirates, throwing seven of eight pitches for strikes, and walked the bases loaded with no outs in the second before surrendering two runs on force plays.

Kremer threw 39 pitches, 23 for strikes. He’s leaving camp soon to represent Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic.

Manager Craig Albernaz told the media in Sarasota that Jackson Holliday hasn’t started to swing a bat after having the stitches removed from his right hand on Monday. He’s been in the cage but more to observe.
