Machado is back in camp after leaving yesterday to have a root canal. The procedure lasted about 90 minutes and he feels fine. He will work out today.
Nick Markakis said his neck is feeling better and the stiffness is “slowly moving out,” but he can’t say for sure that he will return to the lineup Sunday.
That’s the plan, but it’s subject to change.
“I’m just taking it one day at a time,” he said, adding that he’s not worried about his neck.
Catcher Taylor Teagarden (lower back) will take batting practice and catch bullpen sessions again today, and he’s getting close to playing.

Neil Walker 2B
Pedro Alvarez 3B
Gaby Sanchez 1B
Brandon Inge DH
Jerry Sands RF
