Showalter said Chris Tillman may throw off a mound by the weekend, but starting on Sept. 9 or 10 no longer seems like a realistic goal. Tillman will throw off flat ground again on Wednesday.

Showalter and executive vice president Dan Duquette talked about roster expansion today and some potential trades. Showalter said the proposed deals wouldn’t cost the Orioles anyone off the 25-man roster.

It’s no secret that the Orioles are searching for pitching and another outfielder.

Showalter also indicated that the Orioles could bring up at least one non-roster outfielder when rosters expand. Double-A Bowie’s Julio Borbon and Chris Dickerson are two strong possibilities.
