Left-hander Josh Rogers had his contract selected from Triple-A Norfolk and gets tonight’s start against the Blue Jays, becoming the 53rd player used by the Orioles this season and the 12th to make his major league debut. The club record is 14, in 1955.
The Orioles placed Tides catcher Andrew Susac on the restricted list to create room for Rogers on the 40-man roster. Susac fractured his left wrist last month after being hit by a foul ball and left the team.

The Orioles placed Tides catcher Andrew Susac on the restricted list to create room for Rogers on the 40-man roster. Susac fractured his left wrist last month after being hit by a foul ball and left the team.
Left-handers hit .211 against Rogers while he pitched for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and .167 with Norfolk.
Rogers will wear No. 65. If you keep track of these things, Jonathan Villar has switched to No. 2 and John Andreoli is wearing No. 34.
Andreoli is getting his first start in center field tonight while Cedric Mullins returns to the bench. Mullins played last night but missed the previous game with a hip flexor.
Villar is leading off and Craig Gentry is batting second and playing left field.
Thomas Pannone is making his second major league start. His first was dominant, with the left-hander holding the Orioles to one hit over seven scoreless innings last week in Toronto.
Trey Mancini had the only hit off Pannone. The Orioles were 1-for-22.
Single-A Delmarva third baseman Jean Carlos Encarnacion and outfielder Zach Jarrett have been named to the South Atlantic League Postseason All-Star Team. The Orioles acquired Encarnacion from the Braves in the Kevin Gausman/Darren O’Day trade.
Norfolk was shut out in voting for the International League All-Star Team.
For the Orioles
Jonathan Villar 2B
Craig Gentry LF
Trey Mancini DH
Adam Jones RF
Chris Davis 1B
