Matt Harvey gets another chance this afternoon to reverse an extended skid while closing out the series against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards.
Harvey is 3-8 with a 7.76 ERA and 1.724 WHIP in 14 starts over 58 innings. He’s failed to complete the fourth inning in four consecutive outings.
Since the four unearned runs on May 7, Harvey has been charged with 36 earned on 45 hits in 23 innings. None of his last eight starts have gone past 4 2/3 innings.

In his only career start against the Blue Jays, Harvey tossed seven scoreless innings with four hits, no walks and six strikeouts. It happened in 2015 with the Mets.
Ryan Mountcastle is in left field today. He became the second rookie in club history yesterday to record a three-homer game, and the first since Nick Markakis on Aug. 22, 2006. He’s the first rookie in the majors with a three-homer game since Mike Yastrzemski on Aug. 16, 2019.
Cedric Mullins became the 11th player in franchise history yesterday to record multiple home runs in back-to-back games and the first since Pedro Ãlvarez in April 2018.
Austin Hays is playing right field today and Anthony Santander is the designated hitter. Pat Valaika is the second baseman.
Left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu has a 3.43 ERA and 1.132 WHIP in 13 starts. He’s allowed six earned runs (eight total) in 18 career innings against the Orioles in three starts.
