The Orioles have signed outfielder Adam Greenberg to a minor league contract, the team announced via Twitter. He hasn’t received an invitation to spring training.
Greenberg, 31, gained national attention in 2005 after being hit in the head on the first pitch thrown to him in the majors with the Chicago Cubs, and again two months ago when the Miami Marlins signed him to a one-day contract and gave him one at-bat in an Oct. 2 game against the New York Mets.

Greenberg struck out on three pitches from knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who later won the National League’s Cy Young Award, but the result didn’t matter. His comeback was the story.
Perhaps it will continue with the Orioles.
