The weather finally took down the Orioles.

Attempts to construct a winning streak and get on a run will have to wait. Today’s game with the Tigers is postponed due to inclement weather.

The teams will play a split-admission doubleheader on Sunday. Game 1 begins at 12:35 p.m. and the nightcap starts at 6:05 p.m. Today’s matchup was scheduled for 4:05 p.m.

Tickets for today’s postponed game will be valid for Game 2, and 15,000 fans will receive the Samuel Basallo bobblehead. Fans who are unable to attend should visit Orioles.com/Weather for options.

The tickets purchased for the originally scheduled 1:35 p.m. game are valid for the new 12:35 p.m. start time. Pregame Kids Autographs as part of Family Sundays and postgame Kids Run The Bases are canceled.

This is the second postponement for the Orioles after their April 29 game against the Astros at Camden Yards was washed away by rain. The teams played a doubleheader the following day.

The Orioles haven’t had a delay this season. They managed to complete nine innings last night in steady showers and won 7-4.

Brandon Young was supposed to start today opposite Tigers left-hander Framber Valdez. Left-hander Trevor Rogers was slated for Sunday’s finale, and Detroit is expected to reinstate Troy Melton from the injured list.

The Orioles are 5-1 in Young’s starts this season. He’s posted a 4.25 ERA and 1.483 WHIP in 29 2/3 innings.

Young faced the Tigers in his second major league game on April 26, 2025 at Comerica Park and allowed three runs, walked five and struck out six in 4 2/3 innings.

Last night’s victory improved the Orioles’ record to 22-29 overall and 7-13 this month. They’re 13 games out of first place and 2 ½ out for the Wild Card.

The Orioles are allowing 6.05 runs per game this month, the second-highest total in the majors behind the Rockies’ 6.20. They haven’t averaged at least six runs in May since 2004, per STATS.

The Tigers (20-32) have lost seven in a row, 10 of 11 and 15 of 17. They’ve gone 4-16 this month and are scoring 2.90 runs per game to rank 29th in the majors. They rank 28th with a .208 batting average and last with a .311 slugging percentage and 0.60 home runs per game.
