BATS is a new league in inner city Baltimore focused on providing girls ages 12-16 the opportunity to play the game while preparing for high school. The youth will be instructed on the fundamentals of softball by Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy and his fiancée, Adrienne Acton, a four-year starter and two-time NCAA softball champion at the University of Arizona. The girls will also receive one-on-one instruction from the coaches of Coppin State University’s Division 1 softball team and members of the Oriole Wives.
