Cashner has registered a 2.14 ERA and 1.000 WHIP in three career starts against the Rays over 21 innings. Adeiny Hechavarria is 2-for-13 against him.
Cashner will notch 1,000 career innings by retiring two batters. He’ll be the 59th active pitcher to reach the milestone.
Chris Archer is making his third start at Camden Yards this season. He’s allowed 10 runs and 18 hits in 12 1/3 innings.
Archer is 6-9 with a 5.10 ERA and 1.458 WHIP in 19 career games (18 starts) versus the Orioles. Jonathan Schoop is 12-for-31 (.387) with two doubles and five home runs. Mark Trumbo is 8-for-24 (.333). Chris Davis is 8-for-34 (.235) with two doubles, three home runs, nine walks and 17 strikeouts.
Schoop has homered in four straight games and in five since the break.
Valencia recorded his 17th multi-hit game of the season last night. He’s batting .379 (11-for-29) in eight games against the Rays this season and .478 (22-for-46) in 13 games since the start of the 2017 season.
