The Orioles today announced that they have recalled right-hander Tyler Wilson from Triple-A Norfolk and placed right-hander Darren O’Day on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to August 12) with a right shoulder rotator cuff strain. Wilson, 26, has gone 4-6 with a 4.98 ERA (47 ER/85.0 IP) in 17 games (13 starts) with the Orioles this season. Wilson, 26, has gone 4-6 with a 4.98 ERA (47 ER/85.0 IP) in 17 games (13 starts) with the Orioles this season. Over 26 career major league games (18 starts), he is 6-8 with a 4.54 ERA (61 ER/121.0 IP). The 2014 Orioles Jim Palmer Minor League Pitcher of the Year went 39-29 with a 3.67 ERA (246 ER/604.0 IP) over 109 career minor league starts.
O’Day, 33, has gone 3-1 with a 3.95 ERA (12 ER/27.1 IP), three saves, and 33 strikeouts in 30 games with the Orioles this season.
