Well, if new O’s closer Mike Gonzalez had started the season pitching real well, the Orioles could be 3-1 and he could already have three saves.
But Gonzalez suffered his second blown save in four games on Friday and the Orioles lost again in the ninth, 7-6 to Toronto.

Less than 24 hours after his shaky save vs. Tampa Thursday, Gonzalez entered in the 9th on Friday trying to preserve a 6-5 O’s lead. But he issued a leadoff walk and wild pitch. Later an RBI double and sac fly as Toronto moved ahead 7-6.
Gonzalez has now pitched a total of two innings on the year, allowing 4 ER and four walks. He left the game to a loud chorus of boos. He heard quite a few when he entered as well.
Miguel Tejada hit a two-run homer and had a 4 RBI day in a losing cause.
Do the O’s have to consider pulling the plug on their new closer even before the second series of the year is over?
