Anthony Bemboom is catching this afternoon and Adley Rutschman is on the bench for the series finale against the Mariners at sunny Camden Yards.
Gunnar Henderson is batting third and playing third base, followed by first baseman Ryan O’Hearn. Aaron Hicks is the designated hitter.
Cedric Mullins is in center field, where he was listed yesterday before switching to DH in his return from a strained groin muscle.
Kyle Bradish is making his 14th start. He’s registered a 3.88 ERA and 1.262 WHIP in 65 innings.
Bradish faced the Mariners on June 1, 2022 at Camden Yards and allowed two runs and six hits with six strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. J.P. Crawford hit a solo home run.
The Orioles are trying to secure their 16th series win. Yesterday’s victory in 10 innings guaranteed that they wouldn’t be swept since May 13-15, 2022 in Detroit.
The Orioles are second in the majors with 26 comeback wins.
George Kirby, a rookie last season, has posted a 3.29 ERA and 1.072 WHIP in 14 starts. He’s walked only six batters in 87.2 innings.
Kirby had a streak of eight quality starts in a row from April 9-May 21. Three of his last four also have been quality.
The 20th-overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Elon University made two starts against the Orioles last season and allowed seven runs and 13 hits in 10 innings. He tossed six scoreless innings in Baltimore and was shelled in Seattle.
Anthony Santander is 3-for-6 with a home run against Kirby. Rutschman and Austin Hays also have a home run each.
