Latest on Orioles' pitching plans and today's lineups

The Orioles are planning on a bullpen game for Sunday in Toronto, an adjustment made to their rotation after skipping Dean Kremer’s turn.
Albert Suárez is a candidate after working three innings Saturday. He also earned the win last night with a scoreless 10th inning.
Keegan Akin also could be under consideration. He’s served as an opener three times. Dietrich Enns has opened in one game.
“Kind of whoever we have available after the first two,” said interim manager Tony Mansolino.
Trevor Rogers starts Friday night and Tomoyuki Sugano on Saturday.
Chris Bassitt, Max Scherzer and Shane Bieber start for the Blue Jays.
Kremer will throw “an extensive bullpen” Friday at Rogers Center, according to Mansolino.
“Kind of a start-stop, multi-up ‘pen, make sure he kind of checks the boxes there,” Mansolino said. “Then at some point later in the week we’ll give him a start.”
Left-hander Cade Povich makes his 20th appearance and 18th start today. He’s registered a 5.16 ERA and 1.458 WHIP in 96 innings.
Povich has never faced the Pirates. Spencer Horwitz is the only batter for the Pirates who has faced Povich, going 0-for-3 with an RBI.
Dylan Beavers is batting fifth for only the second time. Jeremiah Jackson stays in right field and the second slot in the lineup. Samuel Basallo is the designated hitter.
Beavers is hitting .458 against fastballs from right-handers, per STATS.
Pirates right-hander Johan Oviedo has made only five starts, beginning Aug. 4, and posted a 2.70 ERA and 1.100 WHIP in 20 innings. He’s walked 11 and struck out 24.
Oviedo underwent Tommy John surgery in 2023 and missed the entire 2024 season.
One career start for Oviedo against the Orioles resulted in one run allowed in five innings at Camden Yards. Ryan Mountcastle is 1-for-3 with a triple.
