Orioles' lineup vs. Yankees to finish Camden Yards series (with notes)
The Orioles close out their four-game series against the Yankees this afternoon with Kyle Bradish making his fifth start. He’s allowed six runs and 16 hits in 22 innings, with eight walks, 30 strikeouts and only two home runs.
Bradish hasn’t faced the Yankees since May 2, 2024, his first outing after leaving the injured list. He allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings. The previous start against them was on July 6, 2023 in the Bronx, when he tossed six scoreless innings. He also faced them on the road May 23, 2023, when he allowed four runs in five innings.
Bradish’s final start in 2022 came against the Yankees, again on the road, where he allowed an unearned run over five innings. The second matchup at Camden Yards occurred in his fourth major league start on May 16, 2022, when he surrendered four runs and eight hits in 4 1/3.
Aaron Judge, who hit his 49th home run last night, is 0-for-5 with three walks and two strikeouts against Bradish.
Per STATS: Bradish has a first-pitch strike percentage of 73.2 against right-handed hitters this season, compared to 57.8 versus left-handers.
Dylan Beavers is batting second today and playing right field. Samuel Basallo is batting fifth.
Coby Mayo stays at first base. Jeremiah Jackson gets another start at third base, with Jordan Westburg moving to the bench. Tyler O’Neill also is out of the lineup.

Schlittler, a seventh-round draft pick in 2022 out of Northeastern University, joined the rotation on July 9. He allowed one run or fewer in five of six starts from Aug. 13-Sept. 11. He hasn’t faced the Orioles.
Schlittler has a 2.96 ERA and 1.171 WHIP in five road starts and a 3.78 ERA and 1.500 WHIP in seven home games.

Interim manager Tony Mansolino said “everything is good” with catchers Adley Rutschman and Gary Sánchez during their rehab assignments with Triple-A Norfolk. Rutschman will serve as designated hitter today and Sánchez will be behind the plate.
“We’ll kind of get through today and kind of figure out what we’re gonna do next with those guys,” Mansolino said.
Reliever Albert Suárez is waiting to get a second opinion on his elbow from Dr. Keith Meister.
“As we’ve discussed before, we know they’re professional athletes and they’re important, but they’ve still got to get in line to see these doctors,” Mansolino said, “so it does take a little bit of time.”
Reliever Colin Selby also is at Norfolk and could be reinstated from the injured list later this week.
Jordan Westburg is out of today’s lineup and he gets extra rest with Monday’s off-day.
“Just watching Westy with the ankle, it’s playable, probably not 100 percent by any means, so he’s fighting through it a little bit,” Mansolino said. “It’s sore. It’s a sprained ankle. As we said, an inside sprained ankle takes a lot more time than the outside sprained ankle.
“Also probably wasn’t really wanting to play him six straight right out of the gates, or whatever we did, but just with the Yankees and the left-handed pitching, it kind of lined up that way. Hopefully two days kind of rejuvenates him here going into the last six of the year.”
The Orioles aren’t listing their starters for the Rays series that begins Tuesday night at Camden Yards.
