Tomorrow's scheduled day-night doubleheader with the Yankees has been postponed due to expected bad weather related to the arrival of Hurricane Irene. The 1:05 p.m. game will be made up on Sept. 8 at a time to be determined. The nightcap will be played as part of a split-admission doubleheader at 7:35 p.m. on Sunday. Obviously, the first game Sunday will go off at the normal 1:35 p.m. time. Tickets dated Aug. 27 at 7:05 p.m. will only be accepted at the 7:35 p.m. game on Sunday....

Orioles outfielder Felix Pie cleared waivers today and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk. And while Pie has the right to refuse the assignment, I'm told that he plans to accept it and report to the Tides. Pie would have to forfeit the remainder of the $985,000 salary he's receiving this year, which doesn't make much sense. Orioles manager Buck Showalter, interviewed on MASN2 after tonight's 8-1 win over the Twins, said center fielder Adam Jones left the game in the second inning because he felt weak. Doctors couldn't find a specific cause, and Jones was sent to a local hospital for more tests. It's not known whether he'll stay overnight. It doesn't sound too serious, but any trip to the hospital is cause for at least a little concern. Hopefully, Jones will tweet an update on his condition later...
