Welington Castillo remains behind the plate today and Mark Trumbo is the designated hitter, as the Orioles keep two hot bats in the lineup for their series opener against the Yankees at Camden Yards.
Joey Rickard is in right field against Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery.
Trumbo's four walk-off RBIs this season tie the Orioles record shared by Dick Kryhoski in 1954 and Nick Markakis in 2007.

Outfielder Juan Soto continued his rehab from hamate bone surgery with an outstanding performance with the Gulf Coast Nationals.
Soto is a Top 100 prospect, and has put together his first professional five-hit performance by going 5-for-5 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored in a game on September 2. Soto hit second and played right field in the GCL Nationals' 13-9 loss to GCL Cardinals.
Soto is now considered the No. 2 overall prospect for the Nationals.
Even with the loss,...

Mark Trumbo produced his ninth career walk-off hit yesterday, his line drive single to left in the 12th lifting the Orioles to a 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Perhaps that hit and some hits in recent games means Trumbo's bat may be coming around down the stretch. He went 3-for-6 Sunday and also hit his 21st homer. In the four-game series he went 8-for-20 with a homer and four RBIs. Trumbo said he's made some good contact up the middle in recent days and feels that's a good sign for...
MILWAUKEE - The Nationals will give their starting pitchers an extra day of rest this week, summoning a young right-hander to pitch tonight's series opener against the Marlins in Miami. Just not the young right-hander most expected.
A.J. Cole will be on the mound tonight at Marlins Park, not Erick Fedde, manager Dusty Baker revealed following Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Brewers.
Baker didn't offer up any more expansive explanation for the decision, but it does suggest the organization has some...
The Orioles begin the next series of their homestand tonight only 1 ½ games behind the Twins for the second wild card. They keep getting to that point, moving back a game and pushing forward again.
Perhaps they can bust through the wall tonight against the Yankees. They're going to need more cooperation from the teams in front of them.
I roamed the ballpark yesterday after filing my early notes, watching the beginning and ending from the club level. It provided a nice view of Mark Trumbo's...
MILWAUKEE - Even when they lost a host of key regulars to injury over the season's first 4 1/2 months, the Nationals managed to make up for it, thanks to consistent production from the heart of their lineup and the performances of several replacements.
And so, on Aug. 12 this team ranked second in the majors with 5.44 runs per game, second with a .275 batting average and third with a .340 on-base percentage. But in the 22 games they've played since, the Nationals have seen their offensive...
As it turned out, the Orioles would not go hitless today with runners in scoring position. They were 0-for-16 when Mark Trumbo batted with runners at first and second and two outs in the 12th inning.
Trumbo lined a Danny Barnes 1-0 changeup to left and well beyond the diving attempt of Steve Pearce. Jonathan Schoop scored easily as the Orioles beat Toronto 5-4 with their 11th walk-off win of the year.
But before Trumbo could win it, the Orioles were down 4-3 and had to tie it in the ninth...
Three outs from a damaging loss, the Orioles instead pulled out an important win. They got a game-tying homer in the last of the ninth and Mark Trumbo's walk-off single in the last of the 12th to beat Toronto 5-4.
They trailed Toronto 4-3 heading to the last of the ninth and Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna, who has 35 saves, came on. But catcher Welington Castillo greeted him with his second solo homer of the day and the Orioles had life.
With two outs, Osuna walked Manny Machado and Jonathan...
