Orioles make two more cuts

SARASOTA, Fla. - The Orioles made two expected roster moves this afternoon, optioning infielder David Adams to Triple-A Norfolk and reassigning catcher Caleb Joseph to minor league camp. Adams was on the major league roster after being claimed off waivers last night from the Indians, but he had no shot at making the 25-man roster on opening day. Showalter indicated during batting practice that Adams was headed to Twin Lakes Park. Adams was flying into Florida today. Showalter told reporters this morning that Joseph would be reassigned and catch left-hander Wei-Yin Chen Monday afternoon in a Triple-A game at Twin Lakes Park. Joseph flied out in the 10th inning today with the potential winning run on first base to complete a 7-7 tie with the Pirates. He went 1-for-2, and was 3-for-16 with an RBI this spring. With the moves, the Orioles now have 41 players at major league spring training, including seven non-roster invitees.
