Pre-game chatter (w/Jays lineup)

The Orioles are taking batting practice, many of them wearing their black long-sleeve pullovers. I'm afraid to borrow one, but it's crossed my mind. Manager Dave Trembley is hitting grounders to Julio Lugo at shortstop, making him range into the hole to backhand the ball. Ty Wigginton is getting some work at third base. Trembley began his 11:30 a.m. media session by saying "Welcome to Opening Day at Camden Yards. We've been looking forward to this day for a long time and I'm sure it'll be an exciting day for all of us." Like most fans, Trembley is excited to have Brooks Robinson and Boog Powell taking part in the pre-game festivities. He also reflected on a member of the Orioles family who's no longer with us. "We're honored today to have Brooks and Boog here to throw out the first pitch for us. It's a reminder of who's made this all possible for us, those kinds of guys. And if I could say, also, I think (Mike) Cuellar is in our thoughts today," Trembley said. "I had an opportunity to establish a relationship with Mike the last couple of years, and if there was ever a guy who I felt epitomized blue collar and work ethic and what the Orioles are all about is Mike Cuellar. It was our good fortune to get to know him as a person and what he meant to the Orioles. And I know personally he's in my thoughts today because all he ever said was, 'Dave, I want to help. I want to help the Orioles.' And I know that's true for a lot of people. "I got here real early this morning, coming in the normal way I come in, and my wife dropped me off because it was so congested, I had to walk the rest of the way. There were people who were here very early this morning waiting for the players to come in, get pictures, autographs, just to welcome us back. That makes it all worth while for us. You understand how special this is and how fortunate you are to be here." Here's the Jays lineup (and I'm trying real hard not to call them the Rays): Bautista RF Gonzalez SS Lind DH Wells CF Overbay 1B Buck C Encarnacion 3B Snider LF McDonald 2B Morrow RHP
