Tillman takes tough-luck loss, 2-1 vs. Twins

Scott Baker and the Minnesota Twins won a pitchers duel against Chris Tillman and the Orioles when the Twins scratched out two runs in the last of the sixth Monday night. Minnesota posted a 2-1 win in game one of this three-game series. Tillman took a three-hit shutout and 1-0 lead to the 6th. Alexi Casilla led off with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to tie the game, 1-1. Denard Span singled and later scored on a Jason Kubel sac fly for a 2-1 edge.

Tillman, now 1-2, 4.58, gave up the two runs along with six hits over 5 1/3 innings. He has pitched to an ERA of 3.65 over his last four starts. Baker improved to 12-7, 4.47 and gave up just one run and four hits over seven innings. Baker is 6-0, 3.10 over his last nine starts. The O's only run came in the second. Micheal Aubrey singled with one out and scored on Brian Roberts' AL-leading 48th double. The O's fall to 3-4 on this road trip, 2-1 vs. the Twins this year and 11-26 since the All-Star break.
