Turning the Tides

I'm watching Tom Davis' Take Me Out to the Ballgame on MASN and wondering who's the guy sitting next to him in the wrinkled shirt and jeans? Apparently, there's no dress code for guests. I'd rethink that position (that's what she...never mind.) It's been a slow day, so I'll pass along a few Triple-A tidbits: Dennis Sarfate's fastball was clocked in the 94-96 mph range during Saturday's scoreless outing with Norfolk after the Orioles activated him from the disabled list. Protect that oblique, Dennis. Jake Arrieta starts again tonight, and he's sporting a 1.50 ERA that leads the International League. Opponents are batting .165 against him, which ranks second in the league. Corey Patterson's batting .459 in his last nine games. Robert Andino has now hit safely in seven straight games, batting .300 (9-for-30) with two home runs, seven RBIs and seven runs scored. Andino leads the Tides with 18 runs scored and is tied for first with 19 RBIs. Norfolk is 5-1 this season with Andino batting in the leadoff spot, where he's hit .296 (8-for-27). Josh Bell has hit safely in 15 of his last 19 games, batting .303 (23-for-76) with six home runs and 16 RBIs. Scott Moore has hit safely in 12 of his last 15 games, batting .304 (17-for-56) with two home runs and 11 RBIs over that span. The Tides are facing Syracuse's Shairon Martis tonight. He's my favorite Shairon in baseball. It's not even close. Happy 26th Birthday, Kam Mickolio.
