The Orioles confirmed that they recalled reliever Brad Brach from Triple-A Norfolk. He's wearing No. 35. For the Orioles Nick Markakis...

Monday night, right-hander Zach Davies had a strong start for Double-A Bowie. He went seven innings at Richmond allowing four hits and two runs with five walks and 10 strikeouts. But today he finds himself back on the disabled list for the second time this year. The 21-year-old Davies is dealing with shoulder tendinitis. At this point the issue doesn't appear serious and the Orioles feel like he won't be out long. "He feels much today than he did yesterday, but he will miss a start,"...

If pitcher Kevin Gausman wants to curse the timing of what may be an intercostal muscle injury, he could vent in a couple of directions. The Orioles would have recalled a healthy Gausman for tonight's series opener in Minnesota. And after being on a strict pitch count for his first five starts with Triple-A Norfolk, he was cleared to throw up to 90 for the Tides tonight until being scratched and replaced by knuckleballer Eddie Gamboa. "So ... of course," Gausman said today in a phone...

The Orioles are trying to get their top pitching prospects on the same healthy road back to the majors. Dylan Bundy continues to progress from last summer's ligament-reconstructive surgery on his right elbow and should be pitching in extended spring training games by the middle of the month. He's heading in one direction. Kevin Gausman just took a U-turn. Gausman will go on the seven-day minor league disabled list with an oblique injury. He's already been scratched from tonight's start...

On a day and night where the Orioles played two games, and 19 innings, and their starting pitchers covered just 10 of those innings, the O's bullpen was called on often during the doubleheader with Pittsburgh. The Orioles used six pitchers in Game 1 and seven in Game 2. Tommy Hunter, Brian Matusz, Darren O'Day and Ryan Webb pitched in both games. O'Day said he felt fine after pitching in both games and was glad to get the work after three days without a game. "You know it's funny,...

Jayson Werth hit the big game-tying ninth-inning double last Wednesday night, on a 3-0 pitch from Angels closer Ernest Frieri. Adam LaRoche took Fernando Salas to left in the next at bat for a walk-off winner that capped off an improbable comeback in a game the Nationals appeared out of until catcher Jose Lobaton homered to start the bottom of the ninth inning. Both Werth and LaRoche pointed to Lobaton's blast to right field as the spark that got the offense started after they were held to one...
