Nationals Reinstate Nyjer Morgan from DL, Place Josh Willingham on 15-Day DL

The Washington Nationals today placed outfielder Josh Willingham on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to Aug. 16, with a left knee medial meniscus tear and returned from rehab and reinstated outfielder Nyjer Morgan from the 15-Day Disabled List. Nationals Senior Vice President & General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Morgan, 30, rejoins the Nationals after a two-game rehab stint with Single-A Potomac (0-for-3) and Single-A Hagerstown (0-for-3, walk). Morgan is batting .261 (103-for-394) with 12 doubles, six triples, 20 RBI and 29 stolen bases in 103 games with Washington this season. A .288 (326-for-1130) career hitter, Morgan has posted a .348 on-base percentage and swiped 87 bases during his 309-game big league career, which spans four seasons. The 31 year-old Willingham is batting .268 with 19 doubles, 16 home runs and 56 RBI in 114 games for Washington this season. Willingham's .389 on-base percentage is currently tied with Ryan Zimmerman for the team lead.
