Wang sharp, picks up victory in rehab start; Twins claim Komatsu

Right-hander Chien-Ming Wang allowed two runs - one earned - on three hits in six innings tonight on an injury rehabilitation start for Single-A Hagerstown against Rome, a Braves affiliate. Wang, who is on the disabled list and rehabbing a hamstring injury sustained in spring training, was scheduled to start Thursday night for Double-A Harrisburg. But he was scratched from the assignment after a lengthy rain delay, and started tonight for Hagerstown instead. He struck out seven and walked one, earning the victory for the Suns. In other Nationals news, outfielder Erik Komatsu was claimed off waivers by the Twins this afternoon. The Cardinals, who chose Komatsu from the Nationals in December's Rule 5 draft, designated him for assignment earlier this week. The Twins must keep Komatsu on their 25-man roster for the remainder of the season or offer him back to the Nationals for half the $50,000 draft price. Komatsu hit .211 in 15 games for the Cardinals this season, his first major league action.
