Washington Nationals Launch Speakers Bureau Program

The Washington Nationals today announced the creation of a Speakers Bureau, intended to provide professional organizations and higher learning institutions with the opportunity to hear from Nationals Front Office Executives about the business of baseball. Nationals employees well-versed in their trade are available to speak on topics including, but not limited to, ballpark/facility operations, media relations, marketing, community outreach, broadcasting, history of baseball in Washington, finance, and sales. "The Speakers Bureau is another way for the ballclub to connect with their fans off of the playing field, allowing fans to meet with executives and learn about the team's business strategies and operating procedures," said Nationals VP of Communications and Community Relations. "The team will share their philosophies and expertise with local businesses, educators and students, strengthening their bond with the community and helping to grow fans' knowledge of the game and business." During the baseball season, groups will have the opportunity to visit the ballpark for a pregame presentation followed by a Nationals' game for a unique evening of education and fun. Gameday presentations will be booked on a first-come first-served basis and will be based on space availability and group size. Throughout the offseason, members of the Nationals Front Office will visit local businesses and schools as requested. Organizations interested in requesting a member of the Nationals' Speakers Bureau for an event should visit www.nationals.com/speakers and complete the provided form at least six weeks in advance of the event. Fans interested in purchasing a Season Ticket Plan for 2010, should call 202.675.NATS(6287) - Option #1 or log onto www.nationals.com. Nationals Park is located on the Metrorail Green Line at the Navy Yard station.
