Where in the Yard? (Updated w/Answer)

Where in the Yard? (Updated w/Answer)
As the O's depart from the Yard for their last road trip of the 2010 season, we'll stick around Oriole Park a little longer here in the Orioles Buzz for another round of 'Where in the Yard?'. This week's image is something I've probably walked by a hundred times without noticing until I found myself on a hunt for more unique images from around the Birds' ballpark. So we'll see if you're more observant than I was... As always, take a look at the photo below and let us know what the...

Did you see...

Did you see...
...the segment that ran on O's Xtra last night with Brady Anderson and Luke Scott? Former Oriole Brady Anderson headed into the batting cages with current O's slugger Luke Scott to work through a hitting drill and to take a look at Scott's home run swing. It's a short video, but fun to get a behind the scenes look at a former Oriole working casually in the cages with a current player, and knowing how methodical Scott's approach to the game is, it's neat to have an inside look at how he...

If you aren't a frequent fan, the following list might help you plan a day at the ballpark, and if you are an everyday O's fan, you might have your own thoughts...

Where in the Yard? (Updated w/Answer)
Welcome back for another week of 'Where in the Yard?' here in the Orioles Buzz. We have a few weeks left before the end of the regular season, so don't miss your chance to be crowned September's 'Where in the Yard?' Winner and to take home the MLB gift card that...

August's 'Where in the Yard?' Winner
It was a tight race this time, but one O's fan pulled out ahead of the rest by being the first fan to guess correctly in three of the five rounds in August. Congrats go out to Charles B from SP for winning last month's 'Where in the Yard?' photo contest only here in the Orioles Buzz. To take you back, Charles B correctly identified all five images from August, including: -The Warehouse "B" from the side of the Warehouse at Camden Yards -The likeness of Nick Markakis on the side of the...

Replica Brooks Robinson jerseys are in

Replica Brooks Robinson jerseys are in
Orioles director of communications Greg Bader told me today that the replica Brooks Robinson jerseys originally scheduled to be given away at Oriole Park on July 17 have now arrived. A vendor error delayed the distribution of the jerseys until now, but the first 25,000 fans 15 and older who attended the July 17 game can now redeem their vouchers (in one of the three methods listed on the voucher itself) and claim their giveaways. As a reminder, if you're planning to redeem your voucher via...

Quick O's Notes

Quick O's Notes
Brian Roberts and Jake Fox made an appearance at BWI Airport today, but don't worry, you didn't miss a chance to see this pair of Birds in person. The event wasn't open to the public, but Roberts and Fox participated in the Southwest Airlines "Trading Places" promotion today. The Orioles announced that B-Rob and Fox would be trying their hands at a variety of jobs carried out by Southwest employees at BWI. I don't have any further details to pass along, but if I get my hands on some,...

Where's my replica Brooks Robinson jersey already?

Where's my replica Brooks Robinson jersey already?
If you were looking forward to replica Brooks Robinson jersey night at Camden Yards back on July 17, you know your excitement had to be put on hold for a little while, as a vendor error delayed that giveaway indefinitely. But if you had tickets to that night's game you also know that the O's didn't sent you home empty handed. Instead, they made up for the vendor's mistake by offering Brooks Robinson jersey T-shirts on top of vouchers for the replica jerseys promised on the promotions...

This week in O's history

This week in O's history
This particular week in the calendar year has seen some milestones for the O's throughout the team's history. Going the farthest back and on this day in O's history, Cal Ripken Jr. passed Steve Garvey for the third-longest consecutive games streak by playing his 1,280th straight game. Cal and the O's faced the Toronto Blue Jays on August 18, 1989, and the game was otherwise unremarkable for Cal, but the shortstop would of course go on to set a new major league record by playing in 2,632...
