Orioles 8, Yankees 0

Matt Albers struck out Marcus Thames with two outs and a runner on first base to complete the Orioles' 8-0 victory over the Yankees. Albers allowed a leadoff single before getting the next three outs. Kam Mickolio also allowed a hit in a scoreless inning, and he struck out two batters. The dogfight continues. Matt Wieters, Adam Jones and Garrett Atkins each had two RBIs today. Atkins had one coming into the game. Please allow me to pass along manager Dave Trembley's post-game comments for your reading pleasure. "Brad Bergesen continues to get better. Today was his best outing. He had movement, the slider was sharp, he got ground balls, we had good plays made behind him, his tempo was good and his delivery was improved. He's on the right track and it's good to see." Trembley wouldn't bite when asked if he felt more satsifaction beating the Yankees. "We got good pitching today by Bergesen and we showed improved play in all areas of the game, and that's good for us." Ty Wigginton was outstanding at second base. Did he show Trembley anything today? "He's a versatile player. We'll continue to move him around. It's nice to have that option available." Trembley also talked about Mickolio. "Mickolio was better. He was getting on top. His slider was sharper. I'll be interested to see how he pitches the next time. He needs to be back-to-back like that. He's got too good of stuff to pitch behind. He doesn't have to nibble. I'd like to see him just go after guys. Power pitch. Don't try to finesse people." Trembley believes Miguel Tejada looks a lot more comfortable at third base. "You're going to see him these last 10 days, he'll be here early and you'll see him on that back field a lot. I think the nice thing is, we get Roberts back and we'll get Roberts and Izturis and Miggi out there and we can do some things in the morning together as a group. But I'm satisfied where he's at. "Can he get better? We can all get better. Everybody can get better at everything we do here, me included."
