Cowser and Kjerstad in today's Orioles lineup

Colton Cowser is starting in center field this afternoon as the Orioles try to secure a series win against the Diamondbacks.

Heston Kjerstad gets the start in left field. Cedric Mullins goes to the bench against an opposing right-hander.

Jorge Mateo remains at second base. Ryan O’Hearn is the designated hitter.

Gunnar Henderson collected his 40th career double last night, making him the fifth player in Orioles history with 40 doubles and 40 home runs before turning 23. He joins Boog Powell, Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken Jr. and Manny Machado. Henderson is the only Oriole to also have 10 triples.

Jordan Westburg has 24 RBIs, one more than his rookie total last season.

Adley Rutschman has a seven-game hitting streak. He’s collected a hit in 18 of his last 19 games.

Left-hander John Means is making his second start after his seven scoreless innings with three hits, no walks and eight strikeouts in Cincinnati.

His only start against the Diamondbacks was July 24, 2019 in Arizona and he allowed three runs and six hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings. Carson Kelly hit a three-run homer.

The Orioles have won eight of their last 10 games and surrendered three runs or fewer in nine.

Diamondbacks right-hander Ryne Nelson, a second-round draft pick in 2019 out of the University of Oregon, has made five starts and posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.597 WHIP in 20 2/3 innings. Today is his second start since returning from the injured list. He was sidelined by a bruised elbow.

Nelson has never faced the Orioles.
