MASN teams up with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to Save the Bay

The Bay and its rivers and streams are in critical condition, overwhelmed by the impact of 17 million people living on the land that drains into the Chesapeake. As awareness of the problem grows, one truth is evident: Every resident of our region needs to be part of the solution. You can help! Start by getting in touch with your environment and introducing children to the wonders of the natural world. Consider changing the way you care for your home and your yard. Try commuting by mass transit or bicycle. The actions that we take in our daily lives can make a difference in the health of this national treasure. You can also become a member of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and work with us to protect and restore our waterways. Volunteer to help us plant trees and clean up streams, or contact your elected officials on issues that affect your part of the watershed. By working together, we can turn the tide and leave a legacy of clean water for future generations.

MORE ABOUT CBF The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the only independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers. Since our founding 40 years ago, our goal has been to improve water quality by reducing pollution. Our motto, Save the Bay, has been the battle cry for that goal. From the landmark EPA study of the Chesapeake Bay in the 1970s to the establishment and implementation of the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, CBF has been working tirelessly to Save the BayTM. Our vision is that the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers, broadly recognized as a national treasure, will once again be highly productive and in good health as measured by water clarity, lack of toxic contaminants, and abundance of natural filters in the water and on the land. Read our strategic plan to learn how we are working towards making that vision a reality.
