Policing the lineup (with a few more added)

A team that commits five turnovers and allows 12 men in the huddle after moving into field goal range doesn't deserve to win, but a level playing field in the NFC championship game would have been nice. Three calls went against the Vikings in overtime, which again makes me wonder why they don't demolish the review booth or use it as an extra concession stand. Bad spot on fourth down, bad pass interference call on an overthrown ball, bad reception ruling on a ball that Robert Meachem never controlled as he hit the ground. Earlier in the game, the officials gave Pierre Thomas a touchdown - and I mean gave it to him. Replays showed that his knee touched the ground around the 1 yard line. I'll root for the Saints in the Super Bowl because they've never been there and they don't have a horseshoe on the side of their helmet, but it won't be easy. I'm still bitter. I wouldn't give Adrian Peterson the ball again unless there's a handle on it. Brett Favre, who took a serious beating, will go home and talk to his family before deciding how many times to change his mind about retiring. I guess it's OK to hit Favre in the knees, but not Tom Brady. Good to know. OK, enough football... People keep asking me what number Miguel Tejada will wear. Maybe we'll find out Tuesday after he passes his physical. I doubt that he's losing sleep over it, but he might work out a deal with Adam Jones. Or he could choose 88, with Albert Belle's permission. We'll find out on Opening Day where Tejada will bat, though manager Dave Trembley might drop a few hints before the Orioles break camp. Trembley likes the idea of having Felix Pie in the second slot, but he's not projected to be an everyday player. Perhaps Tejada will bat behind Brian Roberts. One possible lineup (and again, it depends how guys are swinging the bats in spring training and whether the opposing pitcher is a right-hander or a lefty): Brian Roberts 2B Miguel Tejada 3B Nick Markakis RF Garrett Atkins 1B Luke Scott DH Adam Jones CF Nolan Reimold LF Matt Wieters C Cesar Izturis SS I can't see Wieters batting that low, but somebody has to hit eighth to start the season. Jones could hit cleanup if Atkins is struggling, and if Jones is swinging the bat like he did in April and May.
