Orioles and Twins lineups for second game of series

Ryan Mountcastle gets his turn to rest tonight, as the Orioles continue their series against the Twins.

Ryan O’Hearn is playing first base. Adley Rutschman is the designated hitter.

James McCann gets another start behind the plate, but this time against a right-hander, Chris Paddack.

Colton Cowser is in left field.

Grayson Rodriguez makes his fourth start. He’s 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA and 1.167 WHIP in 18 innings and has struck out 21.

Rodriguez didn’t face the Twins last season.

The former first-round draft pick is throwing strikes to left-handed batters on 70 percent of his pitches, the fifth-highest rate in the majors (minimum 75 pitches), per STATS.

Rutschman has a .936 OPS at home and a .464 OPS on the road.

The Orioles lead the American League with 89 runs scored.

Paddack has made two starts and allowed four runs and 12 hits in 8 2/3 innings – two runs and six hits in four in Milwaukee and two runs and six hits in 4 2/3 against the Dodgers.

Paddack has won both career starts against the Orioles, allowing two runs in 10 2/3 innings.

Triple-A Norfolk lost 4-3 this afternoon in Jacksonville. The Tides have dropped eight in a row, this one in walk-off fashion in the ninth with Wandisson Charles pitching.

Liván Soto doubled and hit his first homer, a game-tying, two-run shot in the eighth after Ryan McKenna’s RBI single. Maverick Handley went 3-for-3 and stole a base.

Chayce McDermott allowed two runs and four hits in five innings, with two walks and six strikeouts.

John Means makes his fourth rehab start Wednesday night.

Former Orioles infielder Tony Kemp, who was on the Opening Day roster, signed a minor league deal with the Twins.
