Sox lead 2-1 after 3 innings

The Orioles got two runners on with two outs in the 1st, but Melvin Mora flew out to center to end the threat. They could have used those two runs. After two walks by Jason Berken in the bottom half of the 1st, David Ortiz fought off a 3-2 pitch and it rolled down the third-base line for a hit. Jason Bay then did what Mora couldn't do with two outs, drive in two of the runners on base. The Orioles had another shot to take the lead in the 2nd, but couldn't capitalize once again. After lead-off walks to Matt Wieters and Luke Scott, Ty Wigginton singled to load the bases with no outs. Cesar Izturis then grounded into a double play to score one run. That was all they would get in the second. The Red Sox lead 2-1 heading into the 4th.
