As the All-Star Game approaches, here's everything you wanted to know, in chronological order, about the game's history in Minnesota, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore:
* The 1937 All-Star Game was in Washington's Griffith Stadium, now the site of Howard University Hospital. Franklin Roosevelt threw out the first pitch, becoming the first president to do so at an All-Star Game. The American League won 8-3 as Lou Gehrig hit a home run with Joe DiMaggio on base. Another Yankee, Lefty Gomez,...
The Orioles are sending Kevin Gausman to the mound tonight for their final game before the All-Star break.
Nothing new about the lineup other than Jonathan Schoop is at second base and Caleb Joseph is behind the plate. Those positions change on occasion.
Chris Davis, whose average is down to .197, continues to bat fifth.

Washington Nationals right-handed reliever Tyler Clippard today was named to the National League All-Star team by Cardinals field manager Mike Matheny and Major League Baseball. Clippard will replace Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran, who started Sunday's contest at Chicago. The 85th Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be held at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday, July 15.
Clippard, 29, is 6-2 with one save and a 2.03 ERA (9 ER/40.0 IP) in 43 appearances for...
Kevin Gausman (3-2, 3.51 ERA) takes the mound tonight for his seventh start of the year as the Orioles play their final game before the All-Star break.
Last year, the Orioles were 53-43 at the break and with a win tonight they would enter this year's break at 10 games above .500 at 52-42. But they were in third place, 4 1/2 games out last season and began today leading the American League East by three games.
The Orioles are 9-3 since June 30 and will head into the break in sole possession of...
Looks like Tyler Clippard will need to book an airplane ticket to Minneapolis.
The Nationals reliever has been added to the All-Star Game roster for the National League, according to a tweet from Ken Rosenthal.

Clippard has a 2.03 ERA in 40 innings this season with the Nationals. This is the second All-Star invite for Clippard, who pitched in the 2011 Midsummer Classic and...
PHILADELPHIA - As the Nationals get ready to play their final game before the All-Star break, Tanner Roark will be making his first start since July 4.
Roark was supposed to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, but the game was postponed due to rain. Manager Matt Williams decided to skip Roark's spot in the rotation and instead opted to start Doug Fister on regular rest.
Roark will face Phillies right-hander Kyle Kendrick.

Kevin Gausman is back with the Orioles, and he's expected to stick around this time as long as his performance warrants it.
That's an important caveat. The Orioles aren't limiting his innings now, but he's got to pitch effectively to remain in the rotation.
It's going to be a six-man rotation after Ubaldo Jimenez comes off the disabled list, and the Orioles continue to scout Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rosa, among others. I'm still under the impression that they're more determined to...
The Nationals have no plans to place Jordan Zimmermann on the disabled list at the moment, manager Matt Williams told the media after tonight's win.
The right-hander's MRI results came back positive, revealing only a slight biceps strain in his pitching arm.
That's good news for a pitcher who had Tommy John surgery in 2009 and is a relief for the club.
Zimmermann had to leave his start Friday after just 49 pitches and 3 1/3 innings. He didn't seem overly concerned at the time.

When the All-Star Futures Game is played later today at 5 p.m. at Target Field in Minnesota, the Orioles will be represented by Single-A Delmarva pitcher Hunter Harvey on Team USA, and Double-A Bowie outfielder Dariel Alvarez on the World Team.
Harvey is scheduled to pitch the fourth inning for Team USA, and Alvarez is starting in right field and batting sixth for the World Team.
Harvey is 6-4 with a 3.01 ERA over 15 starts for Delmarva. In 77 2/3 innings he has allowed 56 hits with 32 walks,...
The Orioles were shut out today for the seventh time this season in a 3-0 loss to the New York Yankees. Shane Greene pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing just four hits in his second major league start.
Was it a challenge for O's hitters facing him for the first time?
"You know, you could say there is, but he still did a good job pitching," O's right fielder Nick Markakis said. "He didn't leave much over the plate, worked both sides of the plate and we could not get much going off of him.
"He...
