Before long I'll be heading to the ESPN Zone in Baltimore's inner harbor to check out Nolan Reimold's Q&A session scheduled for noon and spanning an hour over lunchtime to 1:00 p.m.
Reimold will take part in an interactive Q&A session with fans led by O's Radio Network broadcaster Joe Angel. Afterward, he'll sign autographs, pose for photos and talk with fans.
If you've never been to an Orioles Q&A series event at the ESPN Zone, I'll tell you they're definitely worth your lunch...
Brian Roberts said he probably batted third in college.
Tonight, he'll hit third in the Orioles' lineup for the first time ever as a Major Leaguer.
"Dave asked me about if I cared, I don't care, it's just a spot in the lineup," Roberts said.
"I'm going to try and hit homers," Roberts joked. "No, I'll do what I normally do. The only thing that changes is the first inning."
Roberts isn't sure if this will become his spot for the rest of the year or not.
"I don't know. It...
When he's sitting down, you don't really notice that Nolan Reimold is a towering 6'4'' and a not-so-lanky 205 pounds.
His casual jeans and unassuming gray polo matched his easy demeanor as he worked his way through his first major community appearance at the ESPN Zone this afternoon the way he might work a 3-2 count--on his toes but with a confident eye.
With the exception of a few nerves held carefully in check by an even attitude that's carried him through the greater scrutiny and...
RHP Chris Tillman (1-2, 4.24) tonight will make his 8th Major League start of this season, his 4th at home and the 1st of his career vs. Texas.
Tillman did not get a decision in his last start, Saturday at home vs. Cleveland. Over five innings and 90 pitches he gave up just one run and six hits.
Tillman's first two starts: 6.75 ERA
Tillman's last five starts: 3.34 ERA
Tillman has recorded three quality starts and has allowed 3ER or less in six of seven starts. The Orioles are 2-5 when...
You'll likely either really like this post or you'll hate it. That will all depend on how you feel about Twitter.
If you hate it, pretend this post doesn't exist, enjoy watching the Orioles on MASN HD against the Phillies, and have a great weekend.
If you're a Twittermaniac--and I'm by no means declaring myself to be, but it's nice to keep in touch with O's fans all over the world--read on.
Browsing TweetDeck from my desk in the MASNsports.com WebStudio this afternoon, I started...
Quick, who are the only two AL pitchers with more wins than Texas righty Scott Feldman?
You mean there are only two?
CC Sabathia has 16 wins, Justin Verlander 15 and Feldman joins two others for third in the AL with 14 wins.
The Orioles are finding out about him tonight as he has pitched five shutout innings allowing just two hits so far and has a 4-0 lead. No Oriole has reached as far as second base yet tonight.
Over his last three starts, he has now thrown 17 2/3 consecutive scoreless...
What a game to have traveled to Philadelphia to see. Saturday night's win against the Phillies made for an exciting night, and it was nice to find that I didn't have to enjoy it alone.
O's fans came out in respectable numbers to support the Birds at Citizens Bank Park this weekend, and the evidence was visible throughout the City of Brotherly Love during the day before the game and all around the ballpark by nightfall.
I saw more than a few "Markakis" shirts, received smiles and waves...
Texas right hander Scott Feldman picked up his 15th win, one off the AL lead, as the Texas Rangers beat the Orioles 5-1 Friday night to start a three-game series.
Feldman entered with 12 2/3 scoreless innings and did not give a run until the sixth. On the night he pitched 6 2/3, allowing four hits and one run.
He improved to 15-4, 3.62 on the season.
Feldman became the first Texas pitcher since Bobby Witt in 1990 to win seven straight road decisions. In 14 road games on the year, he is...
This Friday when the Birds come home to Baltimore to take on their local baseball counterparts, the Washington Nationals, their matchup won't be the only one taking place in Charm City.
The Oriole Bird and the Nats' eagle mascot, Screech, will compete once again in the ESPN Zone's second annual Battle of the Birds.
The birds first met in DC this year when the O's took on the Nats in the nation's capital in May where they competed in a series of events for the Golden Birdhouse...
He won again - Winning pitcher Scott Feldman did not allow an Oriole to get to second base until the 6th inning and that was also the inning he lost his shutout and a scoreless streak of 18 1/3 innings.
Feldman is now 15-4, 3.62 on the year after pitching 6 2/3 tonight and throwing 102 pitches.
Over his last three starts, he is 3-0, 0.47.
He won his 7th straight road decision tonight, the first Ranger to do that since Bobby Witt in 1990. In 14 road games this year, he is 11-1, 2.80.
He...
