Sports Illustrated recently released its fourth annual Twitter 100 list, compiling 100 accounts of the organization’s favorite bloggers, writers and athletes.
While we, along with loyal Nationals fans, were probably not surprised to see relief pitcher Jerry Blevins on the list, many may not be very familiar with Blevins - let alone know just how hilarious he can be.
If the selfie he took above didn’t convince you he deserved to be on the list, check out some of our other favorite tweets sent out by the witty lefty.
First up: An awesome interaction with a fan. Blevins’ simple trip to the movies turned into a fantastic conversation.

@CellarmanDC I appreciate that. I wanted to shake your hand and say congrats on a wonderful mustache. Thought it would’ve been too weird-- Jerry Blevins (@JerryBlevins_13) October 12, 2014
Many times, national blogs and Web sites will post athletes’ tweets for a negative reason, but this one - a happy and fun encounter - was widely picked up.
Here are some other favorites, including that amazing selfie from before, that made our list of our favorite @JerryBlevins_13 tweets:
I asked for the Jayson Werth BEARD for the playoffs and got this instead. pic.twitter.com/mgPU4tEojy-- Jerry Blevins (@JerryBlevins_13) September 30, 2014
Congrats to Jordan Zimmermann on NL Player of the Week. #restedbullpen-- Jerry Blevins (@JerryBlevins_13) June 9, 2014
And of course, it wouldn’t be a complete list without this tweet from last offseason, his first tweet in a “Nationals uniform.”
I needed to update my avi without notice. I think it was a seamless transition. pic.twitter.com/yLXkWlh6Jn-- Jerry Blevins (@JerryBlevins_13) December 11, 2013
