A rundown of banged-up outfielders

VIERA, Fla. - Here are a few rapid-fire injury updates before I have to pop right back down to the field in a couple minutes. You ready? Here we go. As I mentioned a bit ago, Bryce Harper is in tomorrow's Nationals lineup, but manager Davey Johnson wants to watch him get a full workout today. If Harper comes through the workout feeling OK, he'll be in there tomorrow against the Braves. Johnson noted how Harper was here at 7:15 this morning, raring to go. Today marks the sixth straight day Harper has sat out due to a left calf injury. Michael Morse (strained lat) threw from 90 feet but is still feeling a little discomfort. He'll DH tonight, but still isn't ready to see time in the outfield. Johnson said he's not concerned about the lack of time that Morse has gotten in left field this spring, saying he just wants to make sure the veteran gets enough at-bats to be ready for the start of the season. Rick Ankiel's left hamstring is still "a little tight", Johnson said, so he'll get a couple more days off. The Nats are aiming for Thursday as a possible return to action for Ankiel, but they'll play things by ear.

Nats' bench battle should go down to the wire
