Danny Espinosa, Ben Revere are the last to avoid arbitration with Nationals

The Nationals have agreed to terms with all of their arbitration-eligible players. Infielder Danny Espinosa and outfielder Ben Revere were the final two to settle with the Nationals, both deals coming together late this afternoon.

Espinosa, 28, will make $2.875 million while Revere gets $6.25 million in 2016, according to baseball insider Jon Heyman.

He slashed .240/.311/.409 with 13 homers, 21 doubles, one triple and 37 RBIs in 412 plate appearances. Espinosa also became the Nationals' super utility man, playing his normal second base and shortstop, and also filling in at first base, third base and left field for the first time in his career.

With Ian Desmond leaving in free agency and Yunel Escobar traded, Espinosa is expected as the frontrunner to win the starting shortstop job in 2016.

Revere was just acquired late last Friday night in a deal that sent reliever Drew Storen to the Blue Jays. Revere slashed .306/.342/.377 with 22 doubles, seven triples, two homers, 84 runs scored and 31 stolen bases in 152 games with the Phillies and Blue Jays last season. Philadelphia sent the 27-year-old to Toronto at last July's trade deadline. He batted .255 in 11 postseason games with the Blue Jays.

Revere has batted .295/.328/.348 over his five-plus seasons in the majors. He tied Denard Span for the National League lead in hits with 184 and finished fifth in the majors with 49 stolen bases in 2014. Revere figures to start in center field and appear as the Nationals leadoff hitter.
