Jordan Zimmermann, Wilson Ramos lead Nats to 3-1 win

Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong started the second inning by issuing back-to-back walks to Wilson Ramos and Danny Espinosa. Two batters later, Michael A. Taylor made Vogelsong pay with a line drive single to left, scoring Ramos for the game's first run.

Fresh off his All-Star selection, Bryce Harper is 1-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base.

Nationals starter Jordan Zimmermann has yielded two hits with three strikeouts through three scoreless innings.

Update: After recording the first two outs of the fourth, Zimmermann fell behind 3-0 to Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford. Crawford received the green light and smacked a 94 mph fastball in the Nationals bullpen for a game-tying solo homer.

Update II: Zimmermann struck out the side in the fifth. Giants manager Bruce Bochy wasn't happy with some of the calls from home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi. Bochy's displeasure carried over into the bottom of the inning when Vogelsong didn't get a strike call.

Bochy and Vogelsong argued with Cuzzi, who ejected both in a 1-1 game.

Vogelsong allowed just one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts over four innings.

With one out in the sixth, Wilson Ramos mashed a fastball from Giants right-hander George Kontos over the wall in right-center to give the Nats the lead. The solo shot was Ramos' eighth homer of the year.

Zimmermann surrendered one run on three hits with a walk and eight strikeouts over seven innings.

Update III: Harper led off the eighth with a double to the gap in left-center field. Ramos then gave the Nats some insurance with another RBI on a line drive single up the middle.

Drew Storen will pitch the ninth, looking for his 25th save.

Update IV: The Nats beat the Giants 3-1 to claim their fifth sweep of the season.
