MASN expands coverage of D.C. baseball with Phil Wood's "Nats Talk" beginning April 16

MASN, the television home of the Washington Nationals, will debut a new Nationals-centric baseball show Saturday, April 16. "Nats Talk," co-hosted by veteran Washington, D.C., broadcaster Phil Wood, will air on MASN each Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. The addition of the interactive, two-hour show will expand to nine hours the amount of locally produced baseball talk programming airing each week on the popular regional sports network. "Nats Talk" will follow all the latest news about the Washington Nationals and will include interviews, topical guests and viewer calls. Wood, a respected baseball historian with an encyclopedic knowledge of the game's tenure in the nation's capital, also serves as a co-host of the "Nats Xtra" pregame and postgame shows on MASN and hosts the postgame radio call-in show on 106.7 The Fan, the Nationals' flagship radio station. Wood will continue to serve as a panelist on "The Mid-Atlantic Sports Report," MASN's hour-long weekday baseball show that airs at 5:30 p.m., and as co-host with Tom Davis of the Orioles-focused "Wall to Wall Baseball," which will follow "Nats Talk" most Saturdays. "We've listened carefully to the growing Nationals fans base that has told us they want a Nationals-specific baseball program to air on MASN and we're happy to accommodate them with the addition of 'Nats Talk' to our already impressive lineup," said Jim Cuddihy, MASN's executive vice president for marketing, programming and affiliate relations. "Nationals fans already know to tune to MASN for the best in game coverage in crystal-clear high definition and information-packed pregame and postgame shows. 'Nats Talk' helps to further cement our place with the rabid sports base in Washington, D.C., and demonstrates our commitment to increasing the breadth of MASN's baseball coverage. " Wood will be joined by a rotating of series of guest co-hosts on "Nats Talk." The April 16 debut show will be expanded by a half-hour to serve as a lead-in to that afternoon's broadcast of the "Nats Xtra" pregame show, followed by the 1 p.m. game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals. On days when MASN is broadcasting afternoon Saturday baseball, "Nats Talk" and "Wall to Wall Baseball" will be expanded by 30 minutes and alternate to lead into the pregame show and game programming.
