Michael Morse needs your help, Nats fans

Nationals fans, you've had the privilege of watching Michael Morse emerge as one of the top young hitters in the game. Now, it's up to you to make sure the rest of the country gets a glimpse of him. On Sunday, Morse was tabbed as one of five nominees for the National League's remaining All-Star game slot in the Final Vote. He was joined by four other players and, through Monday, really needs your help. Currently, Morse sits in fourth place, trailing the Rockies' Todd Helton, Los Angeles' Andre Ethier and the current vote leader Shane Victorino from the Phillies. Only Arizona's Ian Kennedy has received fewer votes than Morse. It's not really a surprise to see Victorino at the top of the list, nor to see Morse struggling to climb the ranks. All three players ahead of him -- Victorino, Ethier and Helton -- are pretty familiar faces in baseball, while Morse has come out of nowhere in 2011 to shine in our nation's capital. Of course, Nationals fans sure don't have a problem picking Morse out of a crowd, or realizing that he has some special abilities on the diamond. This season, Morse is flirting with the .300 mark, leads the team with 75 hits and is tied for first with Danny Espinosa with 15 home runs. To vote for Morse, simply go here and help reward him with a trip to Phoenix next week. If texting is easier, text N4 to 89269. There is no limit to the number of times you may vote, so while you're hopefully wearing out your mouse and thumbs voting for Morse, be sure to join in the Beltway Ballot and send Orioles center fielder Adam Jones to the All-Star game, too. To vote for Jones, go here or you can text A2 to 89269.
