More rain for a Strasburg start

Stop me if you've heard this one before. Stephen Strasburg is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Nationals tonight. The skies are dark, it's already raining at Nats Park and the forecast is a more than a little foreboding. How foreboding? Check the weather radar and you'll discover a huge green blob stretching from slightly north of Ottawa, Ont., to south of New Orleans. Right now, its width is from about Burke in the western suburbs of D.C. to a little east of Charleston, W.Va. In other words, there doesn't look like much of a window. Doesn't it seem like the weather gods are once again conspiring against Strasburg, whose turn often falls when the sun goes in and the rain comes out? The Nationals need to win games, especially games against the Marlins. So expect this one to be played. We'll either spend a quality Saturday night together, mixing raindrops and baseball, or the teams will convene for a doubleheader tomorrow. Yes, that would give the Nats two doubleheaders in the span of six days. They played one Tuesday after Monday's shootings at the Navy Yard forced the postponement of a scheduled game against the Braves. In hopes of playing tonight, here are the lineups. For the Marlins: 2B Donovan Solano 3B Ed Lucas LF Christian Yelich RF Giancarlo Stanton CF Justin Ruggiano 1B Logan Morrison SS Adeiny Hechavarria C Koyie Hill RHP Tom Koehler For the Nationals: CF Denard Span 3B Ryan Zimmerman RF Jayson Werth LF Bryce Harper SS Ian Desmond 1B Adam LaRoche C Wilson Ramos 2B Steve Lombardozzi RHP Stephen Strasburg We'll post the Marlins lineup when it becomes available.

As the rain falls ... (start of tonight's game off...
Hope stays alive for another day
