Nationals recall Jake Noll

he Washington Nationals recalled infielder Jake Noll from Triple-A Fresno and placed first baseman Matt Adams on the 10-day Injured List with a left shoulder strain on Sunday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Noll, 25, joins the Nationals after hitting .387 (12-for-31) with three doubles, four RBI, three walks and three runs scored in his last seven games with Triple-A Fresno. He hit safely in all seven games, including four multi-hit efforts. All told, he hit .250 with five doubles, two homers, nine RBI, eight walks and 11 runs scored in 23 games for the Grizzlies this season.

Today's recall marks Noll's third Major League assignment of his rookie season. He recorded a walk-off walk in Washington's 9-8 win over Philadelphia on April 3 and collected his first Major League hit, a double, on April 24 at Colorado.

Adams, 30, was hitting .250 with five doubles, three homers, 13 RBI, two walks and seven runs scored in 29 games this season.
