Nationals reinstate left-handed pitcher Matt Grace and left-handed pitcher Tim Collins

The Washington Nationals returned from rehab and reinstated left-handed pitcher Matt Grace from the 10-day disabled list and reinstated left-handed pitcher Tim Collins from the paternity list on Tuesday. Additionally, the Nationals placed right-handed pitcher Jeremy Hellickson on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain and optioned right-handed pitcher Jefry Rodriguez to Double-A Harrisburg. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcements.

Grace, 29, returns to the active roster after missing 38 games with a left groin strain. He appeared in 10 of Washington's 20 games prior to being placed on the disabled list. Grace has held opposing batters to a .167 batting average (6-for-36) this season.

Collins, 28, appeared in six games with the Nationals after having his contract selected on May 21. He has tossed 3.1 scoreless innings while striking out three, walking one and securing one hold along the way.

Hellickson, 31, is 2-0 with a 2.28 ERA (11 ER/43.1 IP) while striking out 34 and walking just six across nine starts this season.

Rodriguez, 24, made his Major League debut on June 3 at Atlanta. He tossed 4.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing four hits and two walks, while striking out three.
