Rendon's injury is to his left leg

CHICAGO - There's not much new information to pass along just yet on Anthony Rendon, the Nationals' top pick in the 2011 draft who had to be helped off the field last night after suffering an injury during Single-A Potomac's game at Lynchburg.
Rendon fell to the ground after slipping while making a turn around third base.
The good news, if there is any, is that Rendon's injury apparently is to his left leg, according to reports out of Lynchburg.
The 21-year-old third baseman tore ligaments in his right ankle in 2009 and then fractured the same ankle back in 2010 while playing for Team USA in international competition, so at least he appears to have avoided any issues with the troublesome right ankle this time around.
Rendon slipped to the Nationals with the No. 6 pick in last year's draft largely because of injury concerns. In addition to the ankle problems, Rendon also dealt with a right shoulder strain while playing college ball at Rice.
We should know more later today on the severity of Rendon's injury.
